A friend offered me some D-2s. I guess I could add them to my D-2 stash. They were both working steadily up until a couple years ago. Both DE start, hydraulics and PTO on one; dry air cleaners as well. The downside is one needs new bottom rollers. For the love of CATs!

17A, I grew up on the “Deathtrap” D47U7901 around 11 years old? Tailseat tractor, in the cling peach orchards we had. That thing had one very worn out UC. Scary part was we never turned gas off for the pony, never changed the pony oil, it was stuck wide open throttle too. It always started!!! Memories...
One of these D2s is about 100 from the end of production. Quite an honor to be asked to place these two in my cache of CATs.

Juiceman ours was 7U 24000 something. Was in good shape except for the brakes, unloading of a trailer was a trailer was fun!! Never been around D2s but they look late, CATS finest time for turning out good useable fixable tractors 17afarmer

17A: yours too? I forgot to mention the brakes barely worked. We had an old homemade tilt trailer with bomber tires; I don’t know what was more dangerous, loading or unloading! Tractor so worn out, it derailed if you turned too sharply, even on flat ground. The motor was strong though. That old thing barked and you could see flames at night when lugged down.
Yup, I missed that worn out pile.
The D2s are late. One is about 120 from end, other is tail of 17,xxx serials.
A tight D2 rides good, unlike the one at Santa Margarita that I used to own.

***Nuts!!!***
I do have a crazy idea of purchasing a late D4D orchard unit, and adding a custom pressurized/AC cab to it. JM
