I see the CAT #40 scraper can in MN got sold last week. Did a fellow member purchase it? I was hoping Roger T. got it, as it was only a few hours from his home.
Anyone? It did go for $6400.00 USD from what I could see, plus commissions etc. I also wonder if the orginal factory wheels were located for it, or if it only came with the BUDD style truck wheels and tires. No fretting and no regrets, a bit far for me to get another. Maybe next time. JM

Wonder if anyone has info on when Cat changed wheel sizes on the 40?? Mine is later one and it has std 20 inch wheels so tires are not much of a problem as long as one is not particular about the tread. Although the 20 inch tires are disappearing too. I am ready to put some old cross bar military tires on mine but they won't look too bad.

I’m glad mine use the BUDD type wheels and not the single nut 21”? That some have. If I ever get another, I might just put some 315.22-5 super singles.
