Originally my local Council loaded the tip trucks with a 'Chinaman' as we saw used here in the movie, later they had a D4 with an overloader for small jobs. They continued to load trucks with Chinamen into the seventies and were using a D6B to load and a D7E 160 to feed it. Many of the Chinamen were made with log ramps.
It is interesting to see the mixed fleet of machines that the DMR were using in those days..
I have travelled the Putty Road many times, especially in the late Sixties when I was travelling from Armidale to Sydney, would turn off the New England hwy at Singleton, there is a large army base there that we had our school Cadet camps in the early Sixties, when I was at Boarding School in Sydney.
