Hello All
I need to lift a D342 out of a 15A D8 frame. Does anyone know what it would weigh?

Also are the heads from a D8H interchangeable with the heads on a 15A? I need to source a new head and I have been told the D8H's heads are the same.4H9959 is the 15A heads part number.

Regards

Phil

You need to be comparing head casting numbers.
The 4H9959 part number is a 4H7258 casting number
These head casting numbers interchange with the 4H7258
1F7196, 1F7206, 2F4690, 3B3184, 3S8456, 4N7258, 6F4923.

Engine weight is approximately 7,800 lbs.

Thanks OM. You are correct the old head has the 4H7258 casting number embossed on the top of it. Searching for the head seems to bring up a lot of 8N6000 and 8N6004.
Superweld says these are off D342 non spacer plate as well 8H5980, 8N4229 and 7N6357

7800 pounds. That will test my jib out on my 944:)

8N6000 is a spacer plate head.
8N6004 is a counterbore head.
You need to stick to the early type heads to interchange.
