How do I remove the injectors from this 3204 cylinder head, I have removed the hold downs. Is there a Tool of choice ?

there is a special tool for the pencil injectors, maybe try Google--before it became available we used 2 suitable pry bars very carefully and with equal force trying not to bend the injector stem--if bent they may not be accepted as an exchange core--and may not work as designed if refitted--a test on an injector pop tester may or may not tell.

To clean the nozzle tips we used to hang the tips in an ultra-sonic bath to clean any carbon from the cavity within the tip and/or the orifices. Piano wires of a suitable size can be used in a pin chuck to prick out the orifices too.

The puller group for the 3204 is a 6V6976 but I don't think you can get it individually any more.
It is now part of the 6V7020 nozzle puller group that fits several engines. You will not like the price.

I always used 2 small J bars. Just take it slow and use them to pry up the injectors. Cat has a tool that looks like a fork that will fit in under the nozzle housing were the lock is located., but its not cheap. Never had 3204 or 08 nozzle that I couldn't get with the J bars. As for the nozzles in the 3304 DI engines, I cut the line nut of and old line and welded a nut to it to be able to use a slide puller. Also, I would suggest that you never lay the heads down on a flat surface until the nozzles are removed. Protruding nozzle tips can be easily damaged. Good Luck with it!

I managed to get the first one out using 2 pry bars, I am hoping I didn't damage it, it was not easy, I decided to have a shop with a proper puller remove the other 3. I did lay down a sheet of cardboard on the work bench to cushion the tips and soak up the dripping gunk.

Sometimes removing nozzles is a hassle. Hopefully all will be ok and not too expensive.

after work today I decided to put more effort into the 3 remaining nozzles, after a bit of study I decided to use a set or curved jaw vice grips lightly clapped around the top to form a better collar to work against with the prybars. With this arrangement the last 3 came out with ease.
