Any idea what year this generator is? It seems to have a D333 engine in it. Also how much is it worth? It was my father's who just passed away and we are figuring worth.

Not sure but it should. It was pulled out of a hospital several years ago. Last serviced by Altofer Cat was in 2014.

if i read the plate correctly the generator itself which is actually an alternator technically. is a SR4

150kva thats a fair size unit. enough to run you, your neighbours either side with a bit of margin and not break a sweat.
shit we have 3 phase power and only have a 10kva feed from the mains.

Thanks trainzkid88. Any idea of age and worth on this baby. It was one of my fathers many " why did you buy that?" purchases. He just passed last week and we are trying to determine what to do with it.

get a electrician to check the windings and if all good get it running complete with a basic switch board on a skid or wheeled frame so you can shift it. (note the wheels would need to be removable so it could sit on the ground or solid wood blocks so it didn't bounce while running or have support legs for that purpose.) then it becomes worth more money.
a running unit is worth a bit but a working unit is worth more. I'd keep it for back up use or to power a fishing shack in the backwoods or something like that.. imagine a old cat display provided with light and power by a old cat genset.

if it's 3 phase(which it should be at that kva rating) you will be able to run proper sized machine tools in the shed without having to upgrade to 3 phase power.

as for a value there is only one honest answer: "what the buyer is willing to pay and the seller is willing to receive"

something that doesn't run or turn over or has parts missing is worth basically scrap metal value maybe a bit more. each positive thing adds a bit of value. the closer it is to a pile of rusted, incomplete, seized pile of junk it is the closer to scrap price. the older or more historic provenance it has adds value to a point aswell.
