D7e radiator repair question

More
3 years 9 months ago #223962 by DrewAbt
Hello,
My D7e radiator is leaking around what appears the top seam. Can the top tank be removed and re sealed as it sits in the machine or furthermore are they even repairable?
I would also like to rod it out when I’m in there if possible.
Thanks in advance!
Drew

Best to remove the whole assembly. A good radiator shop can repair them.

we were able to get all the gaskets from the dealer when our d4 was redone. the workshop we had go through the machine pulled the rad apart as the oil cooler was shagged.
they coated inside the top and bottom tanks and flange surfaces with devcon epoxy and put it back together with the oil cooler core blanked off. and they fitted an aftermarket trans cooler for a toyota 4wd in its place works a treat.

as for soldered rads it is possible to repair them if you have a oxy torch or a 150w soldering iron. but its easier to get a shop to do it for you
