Please excuse the taking rather than giving these days. Lots of questions as I try to learn. All on the road to more knowledge and being able to help others myself.
The other day when I was cranking my 5T (D4400) over on the pony, it began to kick the over center clutch out. I adjusted the clutch as per manual and it was definately more difficult to over center but regardless it would still kick it out fairly quickly to the point where I just had to hold pressure on it which i am certain isnt good. Anyone know what I am looking at for repairs? Something must be worn out. Not really the time that I want to get into the pony drive but I dont want to damage anything further.
Much thanks

First thing to check. Is it getting a sniff of fuel and part firing. Watch the exhaust for a little tell tale puff, often can't hear over the racket of the starting engine.

I assume this is the clutch on the pony pinion and not the main clutch for the engine---is it the clutch kicking out or is it the pinion releasing off the flywheel?

Nathan check out the Squatch253 YouTube channel, excellent video's on the starter pinion and clutch assembly. Theres a couple that cover disassembling and rebuilding the complete assembly including clutches and the latches. Its not a big job and who knows when the last time its been gone through. I think the parts are still available, if not I probably have some pieces sitting around
