oil pressure delay?

I’m wondering about block heaters and oil weights about now. Is this a long term regular thing or a one time deal? Running these in the sub-zero temperatures is not exactly unheard of but there are things to do.

In any case 5 minutes with out oil pressure sounds like it could get real expensive.

very infrequent. just if heavy snow hits. if it's much colder (like the zero it is right now) I would light up the diesel-fuel space heater and warm it good. it's in a shed with one side open. I won't be using the 9U until spring in light of the pressure question. The 17-A and 3T are better in heavy snow anyway and they both start easily with oil pressure right away, they're just not as maneuverable in tight places. if zero or below I would still warm them first.
