Hello everyone,
I recently broke the cable on my D6 9u, which has a #24 CCU on it. I did read up on how to get it apart, but now am struggling to get it back together. The issue seems to be getting the Spool and Drum back on tractor. The clutch plates are not cooperating when i try to slide it all back together. Should i place all the plates on tractor first then try to slide the drum into it? Or place clutch plates into drum and then slide it on tractor. Tried it both ways, can't quite seem to get it together. I thought maybe is should lubricate the teeth on the plates, but then did not know if that would cause any trouble with clutch operation etc. Any ideas or help are appreciated!

Hi Team,
scan below may help--from Servicemen's Reference Book for Cable Controls--Form No10088-2. The -2 is the issue number so it may vary depending on what issue you have/can get--the higher the - number the later info is in said Book.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

From memory - aka free advice- you have to install the plates one at a time. I recall cleaning mine up with a wire wheel before sliding them on.
