not all pressure "indicator" gauges read correctly after time, wear and tear and so should never be taken as reading super accurate--always double check with a known accurately reading gauge of the correct pressure range.

We were told that gauges need to read pressure indications in the middle third of the needle sweep area to be accurate--this means they are not always accurate in the first and last third of the gauge pressure needle sweep on the gauge dial/face

These indicators are just that, and are designed to read full pressure at relatively low pressures as indicated in the scans below.

Scott- haha yes we might only have three quarter of acre but I've got all our earthmoving needs covered with my two D4 tractors 😁 The neighbor across the road would like an area leveled so he can flood a small ice rink and others want some logs skidded and snow cleared. Lots of opportunity to keep the tractors busy.

Working on the same problem several years ago, I decided the little seal plunger on the end of the spring could be hard and not sealing. That little bugger cost $47.00 from cat and didn't change a thing. Of coarse I had already stretched the spring a little trying to get more cranking pressure.
