Still trying to figure out the new website and so far haven't seen any way to send private messages. I got an alert from the old website just before the change over and can't seem to find a way to send or receive the messages. Can someone point me in the right direction. Thanks

Private messages from the old site were not carried over due to a mountain of technical reasons. The data isn't gone, it just isn't accessible by users.

Private messages on the new site can be sent when viewing a user's profile, under Messages > Send Private Message

The loss of private messages is a big fail, we should have been warned before YOU decided we didn't need them anymore.........

I had dozens of conversations stored there from the past 10 years, information and contacts I didn't want to lose.

So if the data isn't gone is there a way the messages can be recovered for the user.

I agree, why the heck didn't anyone say anything so we could copy them first?

I'd be pretty pissed if I was a paying member and lost a decade+ of useful contacts and technical discussions. Maybe at least for those who do pay for membership should be given the option to download all their messages upon request.
