Gen set info wanted was created by hfdzl

A friend has a Cat 318 gen set engine #53B426 turbo. Series G electric. 240/480, 225/111A
Year of manufacture?

Will try to get pics. May be for sale upon wether it runs or not. Any info appreciated.

I have the parts manual (dated 1963) but I don't know your year of manufacture. I'd guess 1959-1960

I believe that series G engine is different from the bulk of the D318’s that were produced from 1948 to 1958-59 or so. Maybe used in the #14 grader?? It preceded the D333.

I’m not sure what all the differences were but i think there were some big ones.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D
