Had time to visit a fellow member today and honored to get a quick tour of “some” of his old iron.
Never a dull moment at Lowell’s place. He got the small power unit running some; he can’t decide which project to tackle next. Heaven forbid if he ever ran out of things to fiddle with!
Photos with his permission (thank you L.C.) for your lurking pleasure. Some interesting stuff for sure!

Wow! That’s a diverse set of iron. I wonder how the flathead powered Sixty worked? That big radial in the last picture would be fun to look over.
Thanks for the pictures

BP: He has several radial engines. Too bad he didn’t fire one off for us.
I should let him answer some questions here, as he is new to actually using the BB.
Spark ignited AC KO crawler in the mix as well. The item I didn’t photograph that you would get excited about, is a CAT 60 converted to a bankout cart for rice harvest! Seating and controls up front(backwards) with auxiliary transmission to create more forward gears. Had a 8U or 9U that originally had the operators controls and platform above the radiator, so the cultivator sled (forward mounted) would be fully visible to the driver while cultivating tomatoes!
Many stories and unique things about many of his stash.
WF: We didn’t notice too much activity with the bee boxes!

That D6 with the front mounted cultivator sounds like a interesting piece with some engineering put into it and the 60 also. Thanks for Sharing😎

Juiceman, I sent you a PM with a question that a Yuba City farmer might be able to answer. I am hoping for your advice. Thanks, Grant Jordan.

GrantJ I got an email notification on my old email address via Acmoc and erased it before I could read it; I went to the BB website, but it never appeared in the red box as usual;
Please send again? Glad to help any way I may be able to!

I just found a notice that my inbox was full, so I had to figure out how to delete stuff. I am a long way from being a computer wizard. I will just ask here. I bought a John Deere Killefer from an estate sale, just outside of Yuba city. It came with ripping teeth and teeth that split in almost a 90 degree angle at the bottom and had bolted on shares on each leg of the tooth. The farmer running the estate sale had never seen that type before and my question is "Is this type of shank with the split at the bottom, something unique to some type of agriculture around Yuba City"? Since I got a new computer, I have not been able to send photos, so I apologize for my poor written description. Grant.

Grant not to jump in your conversation but what you describe sounds like sugar beet lifting shanks. On the vertical section there is a bolt on share then the shank bends at a 90 at the bottom where there is a horizontal section with another share that is bolted on. This bottom share would lift the beet to the surface where hand labor would then load the beets into trucks.

I had a nice set of Towner and Killifer shanks a few months ago but someone decided I didn’t need them and tossed them in the trash.
