Great work Doug! You guys do it right up there!

A couple of the Board Members are putting together an ACMOC 2020 Virtual Show Video in lieu of us all getting together at Brooks this year. The details will be in the next magazine but basically, members will be encouraged to do just what you have done here, that is to submit "stills" or "video" of what they would have liked to bring to our show this year had it not been canceled. That is about all I know at this point but heads up everybody, that is in the works!

Thanks to all for the nice comments on the D2 restoration. Boy it really helped to find the right D2 to start with on this project. I had found it in a newspaper add for tractors for sale up in the state of Washington area. It was all complete and set up like you see. However, we did pull out the diesel engine and rebuild it due to the typical wore out D2 engine slobber. Now good as new! We reskinned the dozer blade to cover the dents and dings in it. The undercarriage was riding nice & tall, almost like new. Then we painted it & placed the decal kit on it that we purchased from the ACMOC store, which were all of great quality by the way.
So to answer Mike's comment on a lot of time and money spent, it wasn't bad at all as we lucked out and started with something that didn't need much work and was set up for the woods from the start. We added nothing as far as the accessories. These small Cats were typically set up like this in the Oregon and Washington areas for ranch work & small logging jobs. We also have a D4 7U, same vintage as the D2 and its also set up complete for logging & woods work like the D2 was and also complete with a Hyster D4 rubber tired log sulky. Mechanically it all runs out good, but no time yet for restoration, paint and decals. But someday we'll get 'er done!
JuiceMan you have a lot of really nice Cats yourself, and I was looking forward to pushing some dirt with you at the Patrick Ranch Chapter 15 meeting & get together in June, til that all got cancelled. Then I thought, well, we'll see ya & catch up on visiting at the ACMOC National at the end of July in Oregon, til that also got cancelled & croaked of Corona.
Deas, hope all is well with you down under, or are you now in Santa Margaritaville?!?

Hopefully someday soon we'll all get to play together in the dirt in remembrance of our good friend "7upuller" Glen Ghilotti. Until then, take care & stay safe!
