That's one of those 'I don't need it -but I want it' scenario.
Good luck !!

Early 36A plus #80 scraper...
www.machinerytrader.com/listings/constru...0268395/1959-cat-d8h
I almost do but don't know the folks well enough yet - oh well
Neil,
Seems to me that you have run out of excuses! East Smethport is open for business (which I thought it would be if you had got around to asking.) The people at that address also have transporting equipment. And no state lines to cross!
This one would have the diesel torqueconverter if it is a 1959 as advertised. Just like the one over in the catskills. That might give you some room to talk them down.
All you need (after payment and transport) is a good tarp and a cot to sleep on. Plenty of room to camp out in the scraper when you venture down to polish the cutting edges!
Looks like it has a blade too!

Hey Jan I had the same brain fade until I realized if it is a 36A it is DD not TC, I don't see any TC air breather in the photo's. It is giving me goose bumps looking at it, because of virus lockdown I have not been able to go and inspect a 46A18000 series, potentially to purchase as a working toy, it is fitted with Bull Tilt Blade and two tyne rippers. The Dragon Lady knows nothing about my desire at the moment, I know I can expect serious blow back if I go ahead and buy it.
Regards to all the fellow D8H lovers, Wombat
