I was able to remove what was left of a broken/missing link in the genny this morning. Thank G the bolts are captured and don't spin!

Hourmeter shows 8500 hours on this 80 year old machine.

I was able to remove 1 link at a time thru the larger access opening. No need to remove starter, can't get to anything thru there.

How thick are the replacement links? I need to get to 1 3/4" thick???

Here's whats left of a 5 pc thickness link, the rest of it disintegrated while running in the housing.
File Attachment:

1 3/4" thick.

Where it came from.

Next in line, its outside metal edge cladding worn away.

They are called thermoids. I bet you could make some out of mining conveyor belting or tire sidewall might be better. They’re not cheap but might be worth it to buy them vs making do with something that might not be up to the task.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Original link part number was a 737-A. New links are a 9F3358 and readily available. However, I'm not sure that is a direct part interchange, can anyone verify?
Edit: Well a little search in the archives indicates the 9F3358 is an interchange.
Best price is at Regal @ $20.18 ea.
