I have all of the proper gaskets from Cat to rebuild my bellows seals for the lower rollers on my d2. I have read alot of the Cat authorized war time reclamation tech bulletins and other restoration methods but cant really find a modern equivalent to some of the very limited references to the "old glue"
One gasket is leather and the other is rubber, would anyone have a recommendation on what adhesive to use.
A friend suggested to go old school with some Hitack gasket adhesive but not sure what is going to be the best option. I really dont plan on doing this again so some adhesive that was a little spendy wouldn't be to big of a worry. Thanks for any info

You can use '3M' contact cement glass bottle or can. Did the bellows seals in a 22 worked well.

Thanks I'll check into it. The leather seal is the one I'm most concerned with due to the rotational force.

I've been using Permatex gasket maker on the Cats for fifty years and it still works great!
Not easy to clean off however.

The only solvent that will touch Permatex is alcohol. I seem to remember 190 prof for thinning and clean-up.

Cat now sells 3M "Hi-Tack" instead of the old red colored cement.
I have the red hitack do you think that would work for both gaskets? I'm familiar with it and that's the way I've been learning but don't know to much about the newer adhesives.

Thanks for the rest of the information I'm going to check into all the options. Seems like there's multiple options
