Hello , I am chasing a part number for a rear main bearing on a pony engine on a D73t . I have a spare pony but it runs a rear main seal instead of an oil screw.i thought I would use this crank in my pony and get my pony block main line bored to accept the seal and shorter main bearing . My parts manual only gives me the part numbers for oil screw type bearing ,many thanks rowey

Hi Team,
scans are all I have on a Field fix to add the rear seal.
The Service Magazine Jan 30-1953 tells of a first release expensive seal addition method.
Service Magazine May 07-1954 tells of a cheaper method.
Service Bulletin July 19-1955 gives all the Part Numbers for the Field Change Over Group and Special Instruction Form No 137-30912-02 for fitting said group.
The Dealer Tech Service dept or Parts Manger should be able to supply a copy from Micro Film--hopefully.
Everyone with a D7/8 of the period should copy and save this as this stuff can disappear over time.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

A few months ago I tried the dealer for the field upgrade parts and nothing is available & they don't even know what I'm talking about. I think you could get the seal in a CR seal, and use a speedy sleeve or machine a thin wall sleeve for the journal
