I have recently bought a cat 10. I am trying to find out what year it is and were it was made. Is there a serial number list for 10s and d2s..please let me know..

The ACMOC store has a Serial Number Guide for (I think) $25.00. Covers most crawlers from 1925 to the late '50s.

Another good resource book from the store is the Caterpillar Pocket Guide by LaVoie. Maybe not 100% perfect in every detail but I think it's great.

Now why would you want one built in CA? Are you figuring on making a lot of LEFT turns?
The Ten was only built in Peoria.
