Can anyone recommend an engine shop in California (preferably central) familiar and competent with D6 pony motors?
Thanks!

I’d try ESSO ? Equipment in Modesto, CA. Harry and Rick Belleto. They have a good reputation, nice guys to deal with. You might call and ask their parts man, possibly might have a decent running pony laying around.

I have a pony crank I had welded to standard our of a no 12 motor grader serial 9k8646. Ended up not using is because it took so long to get rebuilt. Cost me $800! If it’s the same you can have it for that. Can send pictures if you are interested. Paul 559-706-6319

Yikes! do you mind telling me who did it? I've found two places in CA, one in Anaheim and one in Hayward. I was hoping it wouldn't be that much. But I haven't received quotes yet, either. I may take you up on your offer.
Juiceman, thanks for the recommendation. I'll give them a call. I already have enough in parts that I probably will stick with what I have and have them rebuild it.
Thank you, gentlemen!

I took it to Advanced engines in Madera. They subbed it to a shop in Fresno. I don’t remember what shop it was though. Give Joe a call 559 662-1801. He’s been doing my engine work for years. He could tell you who could do it.Paul

Further and further down the rabbit hole I go: can anyone recommend a source for pony motor cylinder sleeves?
