I got a coffee can full of nozzles/valves for 315's & 311's and wanting to bench test them. Will this work ? How? No instructions came with it. I need adapter with cat thread, (9/16 fine almost goes into brass protection cap. Maybe metric?) Can a tap be bought for retapping the smaller id adapter? (last photo) Its 7/16 fine thread now. The larger id 1 is between 5/8 and 3/4 fine thread. I don't know what that these adapters are for, only buda? Any ideas?

I have the same unit, It works great for testing the old cat injectors, somewhere I have the instructions and adapters but can't find at the moment, will post if I find the instructions.

Thanks, please show adapter that fits 311"s/315"s. If its buda it'll have a part number on it.

Don't think I have anything for the D311 or D315, I used it on the earlier style injectors.

That IS a pop tester!

I’ve always used the adapter/injector body piece the capsule nozzles screw on to adapt them to the tester line. Tester line screws on the CAT body and tightens up. Capsule nozzles screw on the body piece GENTLY, maybe use a pair of pliers to snug it up. Main thing on that joint is it must be clean or it will leak. The threaded connection between body piece and capsule nozzle is a very loose fit to allow fuel to pass through the threads. So you can’t crank the capsule down tight to stop it leaking a little. I’ve always been able to test them even if it drips a little there, just make sure any leaks from that joint aren’t confused with dribbling from the nozzle.

I’ve usually found even “good” nozzles to crack at lower than desired pressure compared to new. So saved for use in a pinch but usually for $20, just get a new one!

Ideally you could cut up an old precombustion chamber to install the nozzles into with body piece and hold down nut and torque to spec before testing, but I think you will find out which ones are good just by using the finger/pliers tight joint.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

The best way to make an adapter for testing capsule injecton valves is to utilze an old pin holed prechamber. Simply cut it apart so the spray pattern can be observed. The adapter can simply be fastened in as it is on the engine leak free.

I agree, trying to round up parts now. Best i can tell the fuel line connection nut is 1/4" pipe. thanks.

I think that’s highly unlikely
Never saw any high pressure fuel injection stuff using pipe thread connections.
I’ll look in a bit and report back.
