That is an oddball size JM (speaking from my days in the muffler shop). But the shop can expand a flare for you if they have the right tooling. If not, just slice down the side of the sleeve, and add in another piece of thin wall steel to make up the circumference then glue it back on to the new muffler
Cheers,
Neil

Yes Neil. Very odd dimension. I’ve asked the local dealer twice ( with proper numbers) to ship me a muffler, only to end up with a 3” each time. At least I can put them on a D4 or a U series 6! Even my D5s take a 3”.
Go figure... whether I go big or go smaller on the flare, I gots to have a muffler! Thanks. JM

Thank you Eddie! For the life of me, I don’t know what the kids behind the counter are using for their parts numbers. I’ll share this with them to make all of our lives easier.
Regards, JM

With the turbo 3304 that would make it a 84J1525-up s/n. Just trying to figure out if that change also included hydraulic boosted steering clutches and a circulating oil system and not just oil in the compartment.
No circulating oil system on this one

Hi Team,
the muffler and pipe scans above were copied from a Caterpillar One Safe Source book that is/was available at your Cat Dealer back in my time.
Every Parts Person (yes, we had lady Parts Interpreters back then and they were good let me tell you) that was worth their salt had one also there were usually some on the counter and/or accessories racks as hand outs--handiest quick reference book going.
Scan below is of one of my well thumbed copies.
Cheers,
Eddie B.

The "One Safe Source" is on line, as we discussed it with Cat hardware like nuts and bolts not to long ago. I think it is listed under the One Safe Source, but maybe not. But I was able to find it,so couldn't have been to hard.
