interesting adaptation. unless it isn't de rated then there wouldn't be much advantage over a D4C with turbo. when did Caterpillar beef up the driveline on the D4 series to accept more horsepower??? i think everything pretty much was the same up until the D4D wasn't it???

If I ever get the opportunity, I’ll look at this D4/318 combination and do some photo reconnaissance.
Seems a bit of effort to make the swap. I don’t know if the guy just happened to have the D6 motor to replace the 315, or purposely sought to do the changeover.
