I'm working on a gas 50. Got it about 1 month ago. It was stuck pretty good but after soaking and working the crank back and forth, it is getting more limber. Been squirting oil on the crank and cam also. Little did I know, I twisted the pin on the oil pump drive gear. Removed it and cleaned it up. Some of the teeth are a little rust pitted. I put it back together anyway. It pumps oil. Evidently the bottom pump supplies oil to the lube system and the top pump moves oil from the front of the pan to the back. Is this right or am I missing something around that tube that goes up to the oil passages?

Also, it has an Ensign carb. I guess I need to clean it out. The flaps still move so that means it has some wear. Wondering if a kit is available. I had to get a different magneto since the one on it had gotten water in it and corroded badly. Anyway, one step at time. Any comments welcome!!!

I'm not all that familiar with the "50" but oil pumping, depending on the number of sections, usually moves oil from front and/or rear sumps to the main sump, usually center, for pumping to the lube circulating system.
