I delivered a 40,000 lb gear reduction box to Canada. I’m learning to ask more key questions. The electric motor input speed of 1,750 and output of the two opposing rotating screws is 350 rpm. The gear reduction box turn two screws opposite directions to mix the plastic materials. The screws force the blended plastic out small holes and a cold knife cuts them off at 3/16. The cold knife cuts small pieces so it almost instantly hardens the plastic. This facility looks like a oil refinery. They make tons and tons of little plastic thats loaded into RR hopper cars. Didn’t ask what happened after that. Assume it’s put into some type of die press to make plastic goods.

D4e, these Michigan truckers are daily heavy haulers.

Headed to Dallas now with a low tolerance wood CNC machine that makes household furniture.

The forklift is in demand. They keep it very busy. It’s a 60-80 ton lift. They stack weights on the rear and it hydraulically extends out as needed. Steel plates were needed to keep it from sinking in the asphalt but no problem on concrete.

In Mich. they are allowed 11 axles. I think the guy that wrote that law owned a tire store. I was helping at a farm near Flint. The rig I was driving had a 3 axle tractor, 5 axle trailer (two lift axles) and a 2 axle pup. Lots of fun going through town with that rig.

Norm, how much can they gross with 11 axles?

Rodger, Weenie kicked the bucket few years ago. Got little Chihuahua now. I crossed at Port Huron (above Detroit) I make the dog stay in the back and deny everything. She loves to ride on my Harley with me. She rides in my back pack.

I seem to remember 154,000, but that was going to Ottawa Lake, Mich. and I think that was a bit over.

Hi, Oil Slick.
I dunno about elsewhere but we hadda 9-axle come into the ranch here with a load travelling entirely within CA. that was carrying 106,000#. And it was not all one piece. One part had to be taken off to get the height down but still came over in the same load. I do not know what the gross was.

Just my 0.02.

You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Rome, the old COE doesn’t look very powerful but with enough gear reduction seems like one drive axle would chew up tires pretty fast with that much weight.

Deas, did the ranch get a new play toy?
