we get Japanese built machines of most sizes and types here down under--closer than USA.

The main differences are in the Electrical systems in that Mitsubishi or other Japanese brand electrics are fitted.

Mitsubishi build Cat machines under license and so if they have an in house electrical device that is suitable that is what goes on the machine--if they do not have a suitable device then they will source one from outside--the UK built units likely have local electrical devices on them in the same manner.
