Post on Purple Wave, Ebay, Facebook, Craigslist, etc. Contact Cat dealer sales person, they may know of local collectors also.Ok, if somebody is interested I hope they contact me! It's in central Iowa. Where else should I post this or who should I contact?

Hi, Fairlady.
Serial number should be on an aluminum tag toward the front of the frame, usually on the left side. It should also be on the engine block inboard of the starting engine clutch and pinion controls on the right side of the engine.
If the tags are gone, try scraping any grease and/or 'gunk' off and looking for the number stamped into the frame or the engine block. The number should start with 1 figure, then a letter followed a series of numbers.
The tags were held in place by two rivets in each tag. If the tag is missing, sometimes finding the rivets can be a hint to the location.

. I have a 9K as pictured and a 1951 8T the engine side panels are very differentDoes anyone know if the lower engine compartment shields would fit a cat 12 8t? If they would i would be interested in purchasing the pair.
