Got two of these in the yard gathering moss. One with a stuck engine a winch and a blade. It is missing the carb and hasn't seen operation for some twenty years.
Second one is just a crawler with a missing magneto but the engine rotates by hand. I picked up another mag and it has taken up residence on the floor behind me.
97124, Hillsboro, Ore is the area.
Part of me is inclined to keep them and the other part is not.
Parting them out has come to mind and the key item, I suspect, being the winch value. I believe it is loaded with 1/2 inch cable.
Opinions?

Here's you pic of a winch that won't get drug out for about another 2 or 3 weeks. At that time both crawlers will get moved to a secondary road and stored.
This one will get cleaned up a bit and the other one will be made to run. Might not move, but it should run. This one will get pressure washed and I will once again make the winch controls work. Beyond that time will tell.

Locally both crawlers are on craigslist at $3K. Not each, both. One reply so far and he was looking for drop in price before he came out or even saw the other crawler at all. This just helped to firm my price. 143 people gives rise to the though of parting these machines out. However, freight cost for shipping parts might be a bit on the high side. I figure a smart person might have grabbed both machines real quick. Apparently not so.
Being in the weeds doesn't help much either or covered with moss.

It rains from Labor Dy to Memorial Day. and sometimes in the dry season also. We might go a month in there somewhere with no measurable rainfall.
I didn't say it didn't rain, just not enough to fill up the rain gauge.
People in California go to the beach, lay on the sand and get tanned. In Oregon, they just rust.

I looked at a friends 22 recently and it had a winch, but it had a chain drive to the drum. Your winch looks much better. That would be a nice machine to restore to workable or if a person had buckets full of money, restore to new condition. I am glad you live far enough away that I cant be tempted. Somebody will be. If you find something and continue to spend on it, you can get buckets.
Her 1950 Ferguson tractor with three transmissions, all in a row, is buckets.
I already have a Ford 871 "Gold Demonstrator" tractor that is on the schedule for restoration due to the unique history of that machine.
Restoration might not be much more than the gold paint job. The engine still runs as well as the working 10 speed "automatic".
A few things to put back to original or closer than they are now and I will call it done.
The Twenty-Two winch I figure is worth about a grand by itself. That leaves the blade for $500 and that is 1/2 price for both machines.
Like I told the first lookey-lou, I get it running and the price goes up. Simple.

That winch is PTO driven and has a handle on the right side to engage it. I hope to have it drug out of it's current location, cleaned up a bit and then moved to another location off the main property. Currently working on putting a fluid change and winch cable on a D4D between the rain showers.
Once that, a few other things are also done and the parking area are prepped, both crawlers will be moved. The D4D with the glow plug/electric start might be for sale shortly after that.

Looks like a Heil or Garwood military winch. It is actually mounted upside down as the worm gear should be on the bottom.

I installed one on my 22. Chain drive off the stock PTO.

Once I get this cleaned up a bit during it's movement to another place, I will re-post pics of it and see what turns up.
