Part number8N8796 was created by d4e
Does anyone recognize this number I gave four. It’s a injector nozzle. I check all my D2 and D4 books as well as 78P book I can’t find a match . I’m wanting to put new injectors in my Late D2. DE engine thanks John.

That's a really old valve service group number, now obsolete.
Current use is a 6H3364 valve service group that uses a 9F4113 nozzle.
The service group just adds o-ring seals.

Started out as a 7S9891 service group with 7S8722 nozzle superceded by a 8N8796 service group with 8N4694 nozzle then 6H3364 service group with 9F4113 nozzle.
All good for the D311, D315, D318. Not for D311H model.

Mag, some D315's listed different settings in the rack setting chart book for use with counterbored and non counterbored fuel injection capsules, which ones are still being used? Or are both still being used?

Non counterbored nozzles went by the wayside a long time ago. I don't have any info to identify them by number. The original counterbored valve service group was a 9F5937 which equates to a 6H3364 VSG with 9F4113 nozzle now. Lots of numbers in between but they are all counterbored type.

Hi Team,
these scans should be all the info available on these.

Hope some of it helps as it will likely make things more confusing---as OM said, Counterbored nozzles went by the wayside years ago and when setting Injection Pump Racks I am fairly sure we ran with the Rack Setting that suited the S/No as per the Rack Charts.
As said in one of the scans that individual Straight bore nozzles can be replaced by Counterbored nozzles but if at more than half need replacing then it is recommended that all should be replaced to make for a smoother running engine.
This seems to indicate that there would not be much difference in engine output with either type nozzle--I stand to be corrected.

Cheers,
Eddie B.

Add these two to the mix but it still does not help identify non-counterbored and counterbored nozzles.
