Hi corncrusher, the D6 and D6B tractors were produced in two gauges. The D6 9U and the D6B 44A interchange, they are the wide gauge(74 inch) version. The D6 8U and the D6B 37A are the narrow(60 inch) gauge. The angle blade you need will have a S/N 16C1 to 16C5000 and also 16C5001 to 16C20328.
The D6C/D6D blades are too heavy for your D6B and about 2 inches too wide.

thanks for the info. mine is wider though. Yes the d6c and d6d blades are way over kill but our cat is 99 (give or take 1/2 inch) inches wide, the same width as the d6d that I measured. Did they make any frames that wide? serial number on machine is 44a5508 and we measure outside of track to outside.

Many different widths of track shoes,so the official measurement is center of sprocket to sprocket. I believe in the time of the 9u D6 there were some track shoes that were to wide to be used with a factory blade.

"I also joined a year ago. had been on here a couple of times as a non-member and found the info very helpful so I got a one year subscription (not very expensive at all) to try it out. I really like all the resources on here so I just got a three year. I think its a very small price for what you can get out of this site."
