New #44 grader yard art?

I got extremely bored this week, so I took part in some online auction bidding.
Fought off someone else for 8H960. From what I have found, it should be a 44 and not a 33 as what many thought it was?
Not sure if the actual build date, or much other that the little I’ve found in old threads.
Could anyone here enlighten me on it?
If I can gather up 2 replacement spoked wheels that would be awesome.
Future plans are to tighten a couple of things as well as loosen; sandblast and repaint.
New tires are a must. Correct tread pattern unknown as well.
Lastly, I need to figure out which period correct tractor to attach it to; I’ll probably need to buy one of those too. 😝
Thanks, JM

Hi juiceman it looks to be in very good condition other than the items you mentioned.
I'm glad you were able to get it,
Craig

I built a mile of desert road with my similar Adams before I purchased my 12. That yard art gets a higher price than useable equipment. Very Nice and complete. Usually the steerable tongue is gone. First thing to get broken.

You read my mind Jon-Mark!!!
Hardest part is finding someone to crank the wheels on the back end.

JM,

Congratulations on winning the grader! Just guessing, I would think about 1940 for a build date but I am no expert. That would mean an early D2 or D4 would be right for dragging it around. You might check with Chad E. to make you two new front wheels. He made the wheels for Tom's elevating grader that is over at SM.

What I have been able to find is that 8H-1 was the start of the first #44 pull graders. catskinner

Thank you Erik. Whenever I am able to remember, I use your site for reference regarding serial numbers and build dates. Nice to know exactly when something was manufactured.
I have a couple of pieces to add to your list one day.
Thanks so much! JM

Erik The picture you posted is the earlier #44. Looks like he has the later type using the single tubular frame.
I have one of the later ones that is power controlled.
