Hi, Seiscat.
Caterpillar still has all those files? That may have been true in 1937 but I seriously doubt it is still so today. That said though, I would not be at all surprised if their file systems are still WAY bigger than most heavy machinery manufacturers.

And another "that said" - - - how many people know that the first tracked tractor that Holt ever sold, #111 which went to Florida, went with a complete parts book containing photographs of every part in the machine taken from all the angles necessary to show all the needed measurements for each part to enable the new owner to have parts manufactured locally 'cos there was no spare parts warehouse or delivery service in 1906.

After I thought about my first post I realized that I should have put an emoji or something to make sure you knew I was being tongue in cheek so I quickly added "lol". Apparently you had read the unedited post and were typing your reply while I was editing! look at the time stamps!:doh::doh:
Sorry about that,
Craig

Hi, seiscat.
No sweat. A LONNNNGGGG time ago, I came across a saying that covers a LOTTTT of life situations very nicely.

"Don't sweat the petty things. Just pet the sweaty things."

Works for me.

Deas-
Thank you sir for posting this. What a super piece of history showing the drive and pride of an American Company just before WWII. I see it showing an attitude that the world possessed in the face of evil. I believe Caterpillar Company developing these machines at that time made a difference to the good for Victory over evil. Good would have prevailed but modern machinery in the day would have been huge.

THANK YOU DEAS! Have Fun!

Hi Deas,
this should be mandatory viewing for all new vintage Cat machine owners.
It will be a big saving in writing repeatedly on how to test and time the injection pump gears to their rack and most other fuel injection system issues as an example.
Now they will see how the fuel system works and so more easily understand some of the injection system test and fix procedures we regularly suggest.

Thanks heaps--expect to see a link to this in future queries.....

Cheers,
Eddie B.
