R.P.M range was created by d4angelo
I am working on my D2 5U #6453. I would like to know what the proper R.P.M.'s are at low idle and high idle (wide open). I know how to set the R.P.M's , but I don't know what the proper settings are. I have the Servicemans book and the parts book but can't find the information I need. I have placed a piece of tape on the crankshaft pulley and am using an electronic laser to get the results. Thanks

Ang: any thoughts of bumping it an extra 100-150 rpm?
My 4U sounds like it revs beyond recommended; runs NICE! Handles implements much nicer than my stock D2s. I’m going to check the speed. I’m wondering how fast. JM

Hey Angelo,

Since you exceeded the top speed limit, you are now going to have to slip the clutch when you are in the tractor parades at the museum in June! Otherwise you will run over my D8 which might be in front of you!

Mine sounds pretty "sporty" at 1714 R.P.M's. I think I can beat you in the 1/4 mile now Juiceman!
