I am a newbie here for sure, and I am just getting the Cat Fever, Found an old 56 model(thank you Old Magnet) D6 9U setting on a farm about 4 miles from home, talked to the owner (whom I know personally) and he told me it was running a couple years ago, and he would sell it. I asked him if he cared if I tried to get it running, and he said sure get it running and haul it home a try it out.

So I made a couple trips up to look it over, it has already been converted to direct Electric start, I threw a couple batteries in it checked all the fluids, she spun right over, I spun her a little to get the oil moving again gave her a sniff of go go juice and she fired right up, runs like a top.

So now I got the fever, and I will be seeking much information from here, I ordered a parts and a service Manuel. I know I will be looking for some parts, the under carriage is in pretty good shape except it needs a new (or good used) left front roller, and the fuel cap is missing, so I am looking for one of those.

Thank you in advance for answering the many questions I will be asking in the future.

I recommend you check eBay and get an operators manual also. It is full of valuable information for anyone, especially someone new to the Cat world. I love the 9U- D6s. Have fun and enjoy.
