Hi Bruce,
Never seen one mounted up to a D6 but IR air driven winches like that are/were very common in the refineries, oil fields, and on tankers and unloading facilities....any place where electric motors would be an explosion hazard.

Not familar with them on CATS but we called them "sand lines" on drilling/service rigs, they were air motors that ran winch lines for lifting equipment

We use these all the time when rigging in buildings in construction.With the use of snatch blocks we can get a lot done from one location.
