Oops, yes my D4 is a 1951, not 61. Just another senior moment. I would also like the option of pony or electric start but I guess that I am stuck with the pony. Old Croak Magnetos is rebuilding the mag from my 22 right now and I plan to send my pony mag soon. I have a love-hate relationship with mags and carbs. Grant.

well pup motor has been removed and right hand piston seems to have tossed the rod. Have not as yet dug deeper into it .
I am thinking of going direct start , the next question I have , I am in cold weather here from November on ...and looking at installing a inline block heater and pump , plumbed through the original pup motor ports , with a 120 volt volt heater, is there any problem with drilling and taping around old port to add an adapter for fluid transfer. Instead of just blocking with a plate.
I am planning on running heater off generator with exhaust adapter to old pup engine to heat intake with quick connect , figured may aswell use generator for dual purpose while heating ….any thought s on this matter would be appreaciated
