I had picked up a bunch of it from tractor supply not really knowing what i was doing, now im questioning if i should use it or not.

It is this stuff
www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/travel...rans-hydraulic-fluid

Book calls for a 10W for the hydraulic system which is what i would be using it for
This stuff is 10W-30

Is it going to hurt to run that or should i take it back for something else. Hydraulic system takes a lot of oil, trying to $ave $ but dont want to break it with the wrong stuff.

I use that stuff in my wheeled tractors where the trans and hydraulic system use the same oil--but in my dozers i use hydraulic oil in the hydraulic system--R&O aw 46 which i get in Sams club--I think TSC has a standard hydraulic oil also

It should be fine. Additive package is more extensive in that than a straight hydraulic oil so I think it will be fine where you don’t have clutches and brakes.

I am using some in my 922b wheel loader. I had the main hydraulic hose between filter and valve in the tank burst the other day. By the time I realized it, there wasn’t much left and it needed changing anyway!

I didn’t have a book at the time and I just grabbed 15 gallons when I had the new hose made thinking it probably held about 10. Well that 15 gallons disappeared and no sign of the oil in the fill neck so I grabbed another 5......that disappeared too. Operators manual came in the mail and it says capacity is 25!

Also has a procedure to get the maximum amount of the oil out of the system which I couldn’t do because the hose had burst, but I’ll know next time.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Original spec for hydraulic system is SAE10W. Closer to a ISO 32. ISO 46 will be slow to pump at cold temperatures.

Thanks guys! I was just reading another forum of a guy having problems with too thick of an oil in the hydraulics. I dont want to deal with that. I think im going to take it back and get iso 32. Rural King carries it cheap.

"mo" is Missouri?
I wouldn't think a slightly thicker oil in an older system would hurt?
