They don’t give any details but it looks like he’s peddle to the metal to get up the hill. I’m surprised to see a heavy haul truck with only one drive axle. Anybody share some knowledge about this pic?

Not too sure about the details but that looks like what would have been found on the BC coast/ Vancouver Island logging shows perhaps in the 60s or 70s. The color of the yarder could make it a Madill or company colors of Macmillan Blodel. There are many interesting stories of that time and place. I have a book called Working in the Woods by Ken Drushka which details logging with a horse that knew when to quit for coffee and lunch breaks, a high rigger that would stand on a 100ft spar for a pee break and all other kinds of anarchy.

Could this be Emmerson Lumber ( Sierra Pacific Industries {now}? E on the radiator

Many of the lumber companies had those off road trucks - ran on their own haul roads.

Collins Pine, Diamond Match as examples.

I seen this on another site a few weeks ago. It is a Madill yarder. Don't remember the company. The truck has a huge planetary axle and was rated at 110,000 lbs if I remember right. It pulled it uphill at 1 to 2 mph. They never moved far. a few miles to the next sale.

A swing yarder and the truck is a hard tail without a bed.
