3U2930 is a 1951 #112 Grader Engine s/n

Thank you Mr. Magnet. Would that indicate to you that this engine was originally in a 212 grader but then transplanted to the crane later?
Was that a common practice in that era?

Yes, engine swapping is pretty typical. That's a 112 grader, 212 uses the D311.
