Hi guy's.
I just purchased a late model D7 17A thats been sitting for 8 years,Previous owner said it had final drive issues and removed end bearing cap and housing.Brought it home and fired it up.Checked with magnet and no metal pieces in case.Machine rolls back and forth.Could it be final drive or some other issue? Thanks

Take a big pry bar and see if the sprocket has any side movement. Seals leaking? Growling noise in high gear? Whats the serial #?

Would it be possible for you to ask the previous owner to elaberate on what we are calling final drive issues or why he thought it was having issues? Was something grinding? Did the track loose power under load. just curious whas there an issue in the dead axle support bearing that made you pull the hub?
