D4 radiator ID plate size

I'm working on a pair of early D4 tractors including a D4 7J and D4 2T right now that need new ID plates on the radiator sides, and a year or two ago I bought new sets from General Gear, a brass set and a steel set and got busy yesterday to fit them only to find the new one's are a lot smaller than the originals.

Did Cat change the size of those plates over time making them smaller, I see the ACMOC store is selling these plates now, I wonder what size they are, the originals are 4" X 3".
Thanks
Mike

Part number for the original J, T, U models is a 8B6578. Not aware of a size change.

Thanks Pete, my 7J tractor has plates with P/N 4B6629 which were also used on the earlier RD4 series, there must have been a change in size during the 7J series to a smaller plate, possibly in a effort to reduce raw material consumption during WW2? My tractor was one of the early one's built in 1939, the last 7J was built in 1942.

I learn something every day saving these old Cats!
