new glow plug solenoid, new heat/start switch, new amp guage, drawing nice solid 28 amps to glow plugs.
waiting for a #2 fuel line
was thinking about removing electric starer motor to clean/service what should I be looking for etc, service wise. anticipate I will be cranking a fair amount so want it in good shape.

Not that much to check....
Look for burnt commutator, condition of brushes and check bearing wear to be sure the armature is not rubbing on the pole shoes.
Check electrical connections
