It is a real shame that more do not step up and become a member to help out. If the "what's going on" section is any indication the members are footing the bill for a lot of people that are enjoying the freebie benefits. Only about 12% are paying members on the bulletin board. The guests are no dummies as they get the same BB benefits as those of us that pay for it. Jim (myself) you are the idiot to continue to pay for all the "guests". What if we use the designation on the board of "freeloader" in place of guest?
We could have categories of freeloader, junior freeloader and senior freeloader. If freeloader is not politically correct we could consider moocher, parasite, sponge etc. The possibilities are endless.

There are currently 259 users online. 32 members and 227 guests (from today)

JIm--keep in mind that the members listed are not necessarily paying members of the club--they are members of the bulletin board due to different programing of the two sections--this was all explained by Garlic Pete in the thread ----users titles

Cat stock was $61.00 when Trump went into the White House. $105.00 now. I am not a trader and my favorite stock Costco, has been better than most in these times. It dipped $30.00 today and I bought $10,000.00 more. Double down. I believe in the American economy.

Reminds me of the quote from a famous UK football player who said he spent most of his money on fags (cigarettes) boose (liquor) and women. The rest he wasted!

Hi D4jim is absolutely right.
You should realise also that this bulletin board is heavily and increasingly subsidised by financial or paid up members of the club. Unless we keep existing and get new members and the club folds this bulletin board will disappear. Your club needs all the help it can get right now. Do you think it’s right that “guest members” who use the bb a lot have free use of this facility, paid for by a minority of paid up members?
I really do think that it is time that those who use the bulletin board a lot (and both you and we know who you are) step up to the plate and either join or make a donation. We don’t want to make the bb closed to non members as our mission is to promote everything Caterpillar and it does help recruit new members.

How about stepping up to the plate and taking out a membership or making a donation ?

I joined the club late last year before the meet in Carthage. Silly me, I figured you should be a member before participating in events and forums. Funny thing though, I have not yet received the first correspondence from the club. No newsletter or anything of the like. So maybe there are more members than appears. ?? I do want to thank folks who have helped me with my D4. I will have more questions! Thank you! Elton

What method did you use to join. Website, call the office, etc? How did you pay. Credit Card, Check, etc. We should be able to straighten it out. Send me your name and info by PM or probably easiest call Mary at the office at 309-691-5002. We will get it straightened out. I will send Mary a email and have her check on it tomorrow.
