Gear oiling problem was created by Don
Just pulled the pony out of my D47U19643 and it looks like no oil is getting to the cam, crank or engagement gears at the rear of the engine. How do these gears normally get oiling? There is a plug at the top of the mag gear housing at the rear of the intake, can I route an oil line to this location to supply oil to these gears from the big engine?
Also I am looking for a new or used mag and cam gear. Also need a new or used armature as when the gear came off the armature shaft it broke the shaft. Also need an intake gasket for same,Thanks for any help.

The D2 & D4 oil system is a splash system and that,s the way oil gets to all the areas so it,s a mystery why they would be starving for oil unless it was run low on oil.

fill plug on top (or small plate with 2 bolts to remove on later models if you want to adjust the clutch) and check plug on front end of clutch housing. Also one on the bottom of housing to drain.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D
