All the board members plan to be in town for this schedule of meetings. It is a great opportunity to meet them and witness some of the work they are doing for the club.

Here are the tour safety guidelines from Cat for the tour of the foundry. Also, if you would let Tricia or me know that you are planning to attend, we will make sure Cat Tour People know and can accommodate everyone.

TOUR SAFETY GUIDELINES
PLEASE NOTE: When possible, we recommend that dealers and customers wear steel-toed footwear for tours of our manufacturing facilities.

General Safety Requirements
· Visitors must be at least 12 years old.
· No shorts allowed. Full leg covering required in most facilities.
· Study-soled leather shoes that provide complete foot covering and have less than a one-inch heel are required.
o No sandals, open-toed, or open-heeled shoes are permitted.
o Steel-toed safety shoes (or shop-provided metatarsal covers) are required for some tours.
· Cell phones, cameras, handbags, briefcases, or bags of any kind are not allowed in factories.
· Safety glasses with side shields will be provided and must be worn at all times.
o Sunglasses are not allowed.
· Tours must stay on main aisles.
· Hearing protection is required when visitor headsets are not used.
· Fingers rings are not allowed in many of the facilities. We advise that participants not wear finger jewelry.
· Name badges will be provided and must be worn at all times while visiting our facilities.
· Please note: Caterpillar has the right to refuse anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Special Needs
· Visitors with walking casts, orthopedic devices, crutches, and canes must notify Caterpillar ahead of time. Carts or wheelchairs can be provided in some of our facilities.

Mapleton Foundry Tours:
§ Bump hats will be provided for tours and must be worn.
§ Canes are not allowed in this facility.
§ Expectant mothers and pacemaker wearers should inform Caterpillar before tours in order for the director to set up a tour that can avoid the electronic microwave areas.

I would like to thank the Board of Directors for letting us set in on their board meeting. It was nice to put faces with names in the magazine and meet Tricia and other Board members in person. The proving grounds was a great place to have the meeting. Lee I hope you do not mind, but Bill, Erik and I reduced the inventory that might be going to CA to the show. I know we stocked up on items between the Cat Store and ACMOC's Store. Again thank you.

Hi Terry,

You're welcome. We had a good weekend. Accomplished a lot in the meetings for the club and managed to have a little fun as well. We are glad you and the others from Chapter 4 were able to attend. Would have liked a few more club members at the board meeting, but we had a good turnout at the office open house.

After the meetings, and after many of the board members had departed, Jim Clack, Dick Bodine, Ron Meeder, and I visited the Wheels O Time Museum on the North edge of Peoria. Some unique Cat items are displayed, including the only two 3206 engines in existence. They were prototypes for a program that didn't make it to production. Also a Single Cylinder Oil Test Engine of the early vintage. Best 30, Holt 2 Ton, D2 Orchard with what looked to be Bishop fenders (I am not knowledgable enough to tell whether they were authenic or not), and others.

Later on Saturday, the four of us were joined at the house by Ron Kuykendall, a member who helps us out on the Models & Merchandise Committee. Our plan was to partake of some of the remaining food from Thursday Night.

While we were waiting for the food to get ready, Ron, Jim, Dick, and I took the head off the Twenty Two and freed the engine up. Everything looks good inside.

Tricia told me that you, Bill, and Erik had contributed to the club treasury and taken home some inventory. We all thank you. Enjoy!
