Cat High Ten Video posted on Youtube

Finally got the video posted on youtube showing the clutch issue. Ironically, the problem is not as bad as it was at first. I made some minor adjustments to the brake, the spings on the flywheel and things seem better. Things justed needed time to break in. I had painted the flywheel black which may have been part of the problem. Perhaps the clutch was sticking to the painted flywheel? The machines has run less than 1 hour total since the complete engine overhaul.

This first video is of the engine running and the clutch being disengaged.

The second video is of my girlfriend driving the high ten in the shop to work the transmission, going back and forth. I wanted to warm up and stir the oil around and drain both the tranny and engine, and replace with fresh oil. I am not getting the undercarriage dirty until the final coat of paint, that is why it is in the shop!

Matt,
which side of PA are you on? Looks like you have the kind of shop I want. I just built a 32 x 12 shop (wanted 16 but the city wouldn't let me....). I have a D23J which is languishing outside until I finish the shop. Not going to put anything in there until I have the final inspection done (and the floor painted)

Cheers,
Neil.

Shawn,

This high ten was purchased in Ohio. The other high ten, not restored seen in some of the videos in the background was from Central PA. The small ten came from Pittsburgh area.

Neil,

I am located outside of Philadelphia, near Norristown, PA.

D4e,

Glad to hear you finally got those gaskets! Best of luck and email me some pics of your machine when you get a chance!

Videos look great. Tractor seems to run real nice. It was probably the paint on the flywheel that was causing the problem. It will get better the more you run it.

Chad,

It does seem to be running much better now. Just needed to be broken in a little bit! There is always the fear that something went back wrong when you rebuild an entire machine over several years.

Jason,

The small tank is a lifesaver- makes things really easy, espically when working on several machines as I have it setup to be switched easliy!
