carburetor problems

Here is one I need help on.
I have a 8C20 with an ensign carburetor. After I back the tractor off my trailer the engine starts running rough. It evens out if I choke it, but eventually I have to shut if off and readjust the high speed screw. Then it runs okay. It has plenty of gas in it. It does this every time it comes off the trailer.
Float sticking? Any thoughts? Thanks!

I had a tractor that did the same thing. Check the fuel tank and make sure that there is nothing floating around on the bottom covering the outlet to the carb.

Trash in the carburetor float bowl or other fuel passage that is stirred up by the jostling of loading, travel and unloading.

I have a small portable welder that seems to have much the same trouble. I just expect to adjust the load needle most everytime I take it somewhere to weld something.

D2-5J's, D6-9U's, D318 and D333 power units, 12E-99E grader, 922B & 944A wheel loaders, D330C generator set, DW20 water tanker and a bunch of Jersey cows to take care of in my spare time:D

Had the same problem, particularly when transporting the 15. Solved it by fitting a couple of inline fuel filters. The clear ones you can see thru. Most race shops / NAPA stock them.
