Have an opportunity to pick up a very nice operating 212 Grader for less than scrap price. Need to know how much it weighs. Looks like a D2 motor. All replies are much appreciated.

Range of 10,100 lbs to 13,730 lbs depending on model and whether it is single or tandem drive.

It's a tandem drive unit.

Then its 9T probably will weigh 13,760 lbs

If it is a 9T then it would have the D311 engine like the D2 U series tractors has.

Could also be a 1M, 1R, 1U, or 79C model.

check the powershaft to the controls before you buy. If the blade controls operate, the shaft is ok. Later models of the 9T had a shear pin to protect the shaft, earlier models didn't:eek:

If you buy it, check out the steering box early on, they are expensive and getting scarcer if you have to have one because your's bearings went out and you broke the worm (CAT want's $1200 for a new worm). I started to do ours, but incorrectly figured "if it ain't broke don't fix it" We have one on it now that was adapted from a larger grader I belive.

I have a 212 grader with a broken power shaft. Any one have one for sale?
I knew the shaft was broken when I purchased it, some one had replaced the shear pin with a grade 8 bolt, the rest is history
I would like any information on the steering box that was used on your 212,
So far my steering box is ok, but never know when it may go bad.
