Good Video!! I remember tilling and drilling about 20BC (Before Cabs) and all the dust and dirt. Brought back memories. All an umbrella would do is concentrate the dust under the umbrella!! For a D5 it is pretty fast. :) :)

Very nice video. I hope it meets Bruce Petty's approval. Hahaha. I have a similar D-5 SA 98J492? Turbocharged engine with a soft top. Lots of power and fun to operate. JM

Looked like it could use some engine work after he started it cold, shouldn't cough and smoke like that.

anyone know about what the gallons per hour or per acre were on the D5 SA? why have wheel tractors taken over in the areas where these were once common?

A Cat always takes less power and fuel than a wheel tractor, today they only care about covering acres FAST there is no thought about fuel consumption differences or low ground pressure soil compaction problems with these heavy wheel tractors it all has to do with speed and a and a well appointed cab. Still doing it with CATS. 17A farmer Mike

You got that right Mike!!!! nowadays these young "farmers" want to get it done in an hour and then go play with the wifie poo or go out to dinner or visit the gym.
